U.S. AQUATICS LIFEGUARD INFORMATION

Lifeguards are required to have a current lifeguard certification and a current CPR certification. The lifeguard certification is valid for 3 years and the CPR certification is valid for 1 year. U.S. Aquatics offers both certification and recertification Lifeguard and CPR courses. While there are many different types of Lifeguard and CPR certification, U.S. Aquatics runs Red Cross Lifeguard courses and American Heart Association CPR recertification courses.

In addition to Lifeguard and CPR training, Pool Operators are required to also obtain a valid certification. U.S. Aquatics conducts Pool Operators training courses in house as well.

U.S. Aquatics offers its employees free training and free re-certification for Lifeguard and CPR courses taught by U.S. Aquatics approved instructors. Employees must work a minimum of 300 hours during the summer and continue working through the last day noted on their employment agreement (typically Labor Day). If for any reason an employee stops working before his or her specified final day of work or doesn’t work the required 300 hours, he or she will be responsible for the full cost of the training.
